As many of you already know the quote in the title is one of my favorite quotes in “A Flicker in the Water. That quote was inspired by Hemingway’s description of the old man in The Old Man and the Sea.
He said of the old man “Everything about him was old except his eyes and they were the same color as the sea and were cheerful and undefeated.
Those two lines about being undefeated spawned my newest creation called Pro Football’s Constitution.
For me when writing inspiration can strike at any time its wonderful when it happens like a cloud clearing the path to a sunrise.
Just in time for the 2026 football season Florida Weekly Naples edition wrote a nice piece on me about the Dolphins.
